Earning a CMHS diploma
- Earn 21 credits in the specified areas
- 4 credits math, including Algebra II or the equivalent
- 4 credits English
- 3 credits science, including 1 physical, 1 life, and 1 advanced
- 3 credits social studies, including world studies, American history, and American government
- 1/2 credit PE or 2 PE waivers
- 1/2 credit health
- 1/2 credit financial literacy
- 1 credit fine art
- 4 1/2 credits electives
- Demonstrate competency
- All students will take the Algebra and ELA 2 EOCs. Students need a 684 on each test to demonstrate competency.
- If after 2 attempts students have not earned a 684, they may also demonstrate competency by:
- demonstrating 2 career-focused activities
- enlisting in the military
- completing CCP coursework in the needed subject area

- Demonstrate readiness (earn 2 seals, at least 1 of which must be a state-defined seal)
- OhioMeansJobs Readiness
- Demonstrate proficiency in each of the 15 identified professional skills
- Using the OhioMeansJobs Readiness form (linked below), document how you have demonstrated these skills at school, work, or in the community
- Have each skills validated by at least one of three mentors
- Industry-Recognized Credential
- Earn a 12-point industry-recognized credential, or
- Earn a group of credentials totaling 12 points in a single career field, or
- Obtain a state-issued license for a practice in a vocation that requires an examination
- Honors Diploma
- Earn an honors diploma (see course of study for requirements)
- College-Ready
- Earn remediation-free scores on the SAT or ACT
- Currently, these scores are:
- ACT - 22 on Math & Reading, 18 on English
- SAT - 480 on Reading & Writing, 530 on Math
- Currently, these scores are:
- Earn remediation-free scores on the SAT or ACT
- Military Enlistment
- Provide evidence that a student has enlisted in a branch of the U.S. Armed Forces, or
- Participate in an approved JROTC program for a minimum of 2 years
- Biliteracy
- Meet the requirements and criteria, including proficiency requirements on assessments in a world language and English (see ODEW website for more information)
- Science
- Earn a score of proficient (3, 700) or higher on the Biology EOC exam, or
- Earn a final course grade that is a "B" or higher in appropriate classes taken through the CCP program, or
- Earn a final course grade that is a "B" or higher in an advanced science course (Zoology, Anatomy, Physics, Chemistry, Forensic Science)
- Citizenship
- Earn a score of proficient (3, 700) or higher on both the American History and American Government EOC exams, or
- Earn a final course grade that is a "B" or higher in appropriate classes taken through the CCP program, or
- Earn a final course grade that is a "B" or higher in the American History and American Government courses
- Technology
- Complete 1 credit of CMHS Digital Technology courses, or
- Earn a B or higher in an appropriate CCP technology course, or
- Earn a score that is at least equivalent to proficient on an appropriate AP or IB exam
- Community Service*
- Complete an administrator-approved service project
- Complete a 25-hour log and a final experience reflection (linked below)
- Student Engagement*
- Participate in at least 2 seasons/years of activities with a minimum 80% participation level
- Complete Engagement Seal Verification form (linked below)
- Fine and Performing Arts*
- Earn 2 fine arts credits
- Participate in at least 1 school-approved performance/contest
